A lip flip is four to six units of neuromodulator placed into the orbicularis oris — the ring of muscle around your mouth — right at the upper lip border. That muscle pulls the lip inward and downward when it contracts. Relax the very top of it and the lip rolls gently outward, revealing more of the pink lip that was already there.
Nothing is added. There is no gel, no volume and no change to the size of your lip. What changes is how much of it you can see, particularly at rest and when you smile — and for a great many people that is the actual complaint, even when they arrive asking for filler.
The catch is duration. A lip flip lasts around two to three months, which is noticeably shorter than the three to four months a forehead treatment holds. The muscle is small, it moves constantly, and it metabolises product quickly. That is a real limitation and it is why the price is what it is.

We look at how much pink lip shows at rest and how much disappears when you smile. That difference is the treatment's entire target — if there is very little difference, a flip is not what you need.

Four to six units placed superficially at the vermillion border, usually across two to four points. Depth matters — too deep affects more of the muscle than intended and speech suffers.

Minimal preparation needed
- Tell us if you play a wind or brass instrument, sing, or speak professionally. We will dose very conservatively or recommend against it.
- Treat two to three weeks before any event. Onset is day three to five with full effect at fourteen days.
- If medically appropriate and cleared by your physician, avoid blood thinners, NSAIDs, fish oil and alcohol for 24 hours to reduce bruising.
- Tell us about every medication and any neuromuscular condition.
- Mention any cold sore history — injections around the mouth can occasionally trigger an outbreak.
- Come with clean lips and no lipstick if possible.
- Let us know if you are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding — we will not treat you.
The first 24 hours, then the first fortnight
- Stay upright for about four hours and avoid lying face down.
- Do not rub or massage the area for 24 hours.
- Skip strenuous exercise, sauna and hot tubs for 24 hours.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours to reduce bruising.
- Straws, whistling and hard 'p' sounds may feel slightly odd for two to three weeks. This is expected and it settles.
