EZ Gel begins as a standard blood draw. We spin it slowly to separate the platelet-poor plasma, then heat that plasma to around seventy-five degrees and cool it rapidly. Heat denatures the albumin — the most abundant protein in your plasma — and as it cools it sets into a viscous gel with roughly the consistency of a soft hyaluronic acid filler.
That gel is then injected the way any filler would be. It restores volume immediately, integrates with the surrounding tissue, and because the albumin has been denatured it resists breakdown for considerably longer than standard platelet-rich fibrin does — typically nine to twelve months rather than a few weeks.
What makes it unusual is what is absent. No hyaluronic acid, no cross-linking agent, no lidocaine, no preservative, no manufacturer. Just your own protein, restructured. It also still carries the growth factors of standard PRF, so it improves skin quality at the same time as adding volume.

Slightly larger than for standard PRF, since we need plasma volume to work with. Arriving well hydrated makes a real difference to the yield.

For a defined cheekbone, a sharp jaw edge or a chin that needs real forward projection, hyaluronic acid does the job better and we will recommend it. The tear trough is where this treatment earns its place. The skin there is the thinnest on the body, and hyaluronic acid placed even slightly too superficially can scatter light into a blue-grey tint — the Tyndall effect — or attract water and turn puffy months later. Neither can happen with EZ Gel, because there is no hyaluronic acid to do it. Add the growth factors improving the skin quality of an area where thin skin is half the problem, and it is frequently the better tool here even for patients who would choose hyaluronic acid everywhere else on the face.

How to prep & what the first week looks like
Hydration matters
- Drink plenty of water the day before and the morning of. Plasma yield depends on it and a poor draw means less gel.
- Eat a proper meal beforehand. A blood draw followed by injections on an empty stomach is the main cause of feeling faint.
- Allow at least three weeks before any event. EZ Gel swells harder than filler in the first few days.
- If medically appropriate and cleared by your physician, stop blood thinners, NSAIDs, fish oil and vitamin E for 48 hours.
- Tell us about any platelet or bleeding disorder, anaemia, or recent illness.
- Allow extra time — this appointment runs longer than a filler appointment because of the processing.
- Let us know if you are pregnant, trying to conceive or breastfeeding — we will not treat you.
The first 72 hours
- Expect firm swelling for two to four days, more pronounced than with hyaluronic acid filler. Under-eyes are most affected.
- Ice gently for the first 24 hours and sleep with your head elevated for two nights.
- Do not massage or press the area unless we have shown you how.
- No strenuous exercise, sauna, steam or hot tub for 48 hours.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 to 48 hours.
- No dental work or facials for two weeks.
- Small lumps and slight asymmetry in the first week are normal. Do not judge the result before day 14.
- Call us immediately for blanching or white patches, escalating or disproportionate pain, dusky skin, or any vision change.
